Spring in Calgary comes with an abundance of migratory birds that has really captured my attention and brought about a great love for the variety and the beauty of birds that we are graced with each day. I first noticed all of the birds while walking our dogs along the Bow River and it didn't take long for me to start trying to get photographs of these beautiful birds and to learn what kind of birds they are and where they come from. It is fascinating to me that some of the birds fly all the way from South America to spend time in our beautiful area here in Alberta. I'm also totally in love with the year round birds that we get here in Calgary like the Black Capped Chickadee which has been voted in as Calgary's Official Bird just recently. It's the small things each day that Kirstie and I look forward to, like walking our dogs and listening to and seeing all of these amazing birds that we share our home with.
