The recent warm sunny days that we have been having in the Bow Valley have got me excited for the many summer hikes that we have planned. The hike up Mount Lady MacDonald is definitely one that I often do every summer or spring. It offers incredible views of the town of Canmore along with amazing mountain views down the valley to Banff National Park and all the way back to Kananaskis Country. The view of Grotto Mountain and the Three Sisters are worth the hike alone. It is a classic Canadian Rockies hike with lots of elevation but plenty of reward all along the trail. It is definitely a classic Canmore hike that can be done in early season as it is south facing and the sun can melt down the snow a lot quicker than on some of the more back country hikes within Banff National Park. We had an incredible warm March day with clear skies to really soak up the sun and the absolutely amazing views that abound below into our beautiful town of Canmore!
There are wonderful views of The Three Sisters and Mount Lawrence Grassi.
